Briefing of Projects


During our first lecture, Mr Mike briefed us projects that we were able to choose from. We were then asked to choose which project we want to carry out and form groups of 5-7 members with multiple different specialisation. My group consists of specialisation of Graphic Design ( me & Chen Nan) , UI/UX ( Michelle & Jason) , Digital Animation ( Rachel & Derin) to Entertainment Design (Adifa). After we form our group, we discussed who to be the leader by voting and spinning the wheel and it ended up its me being the leader. 

We choose to work together under the project pink stuff with our industry collaborator Brandialogue.

After we confirmed that we are working on the project about Pink Stuff, we brainstorm about what we think is suitable to be the product that we curate under our brand. 

Meeting with our client, Brandialogue's Mr Damien

During the meeting with Mr. Damien, he suggest to identified tribe first before the products. So we proceed with contextual research to identify our target audience.

I research about other possibility for our brand when identifying our tribes, and after we decide with cosmetic products with coquette aesthetic, I did some competitor analysis about other cosmetic brand. 

Survey & Interview

After identifying our tribes, we proceed with a survey form and interviewing our personas. For our survey form, we focused on surveying people who collects curios and their preferences on makeup products and packagings. We have also interview 3 people from our user persona.

Initially, our user personas are the pink coquette enthusiasts, makeup enthusiast and curio collector, after our presentation of our brand during week 9, we changed our user persona as figure below: makeup collector, makeup influencer, and rich makeup user and focuses on users collecting and displaying the makeup instead of using it.

During week 7-8, we finalised our insights, problem statement and how might we questions. Which can be seen at out project tracking document and miro board above.

The logo was assigned to Chen Nan and we decided our brand name to be Fleurir which is the french word for bloom which we all agreed that the name is more aligned with our brand's voice and personality of  elegance and exclusivity and also to means to blossom and flourish with our brand.

After that, we proceed with gathering all our research and present our brand's proposal to Mr Damien on week 9. The final slide could be seen under Final Submission below.

To better manage our time and distribute tasks to each members, we use the gantt chart to write down tasks and deadlines. The chart was not really used at the end because after some time, I ended up asking the progress of our group members either in our team'sgroup chat or private message. 

Products

We were to curate 15 products under 3 series which is inspired from the animals of coquette aesthetic and each series representing a phrase of love. The products we curate are exclusive and not really found on the internet so we used AI to generate the products that we visioned and photoshop our logo onto the products.

Product lineup: Blush,  Foundation, Lipstick,  Eyeshadow, Perfume.

I also created Magazine and Zine for the physical advertising but we ended up not using it.

I ended up not developing the zine design and choose to focus on the set packaging more. 


Packaging Design

The individual packaging design was assigned to Adifa at first but we were to make the mockup of the packaging on week 14 which I made some changed to the design and make the mockup of foundation packaging in pacdora.com. I then also used similar elements and composition to create packaging mockup for the blush, eyeshadow and lipstick.
