ITINERARY

Figure 1.1 Itinerary of the trip

Day 2
-
Sensoji Temple

There's a small incident that happened during my first morning in Tokyo which us me and 3 of my roommates being locked in our hostel about 40 minutes trying to open the door using a string and ruler while communicating with the staff outside. Luckily we managed to open to the door and walk to Sensoji temple together afterwards.

-
Odawara Castle

Another incident happened while our group were trying to do our data collection here. We split into a group of 3 to do our data collection because the castle was about to close soon. We almost get lost with our team mates and because we split, the other group finding the samurai museum can't find it as everyone gives different direction to them. We also travelled far away from Tokyo by taking the subway train and have walked a lot from the station to find Odawara Castle for our data collection.

Day 3
-
teamLabs Planet Tokyo

Providing a magical experience while immersing ourselve in the beautiful art installation inside.
I like that they have also provide an app to scan the art installation and let us interact with the art installation.

-
Mori Art Museum

We get to see a lot of artworks here in the museum. I wish I could stay a lot longer and visit every exhibition here haha but because of the time limit, we can only visit one of the exhibition. I still grateful that I could visit the museum to view lots of beautiful artworks.

REFLECTION

I think the study trip is an amazing experience as we get to do our data collection while having fun exploring the city in Japan. One of the most memorable place that I've been to during the trip is teamLabs Planet Tokyo. It really amazes me with how beautiful those art installation are and the whole experience inside just feels so magical. By looking at the pretty installation art pieces, I think it has also inspire me wanting to create something this beautiful.

I was really happy that I get to see snow first time in my life while in Tokyo. It is also not as cold as I thought before coming and I really liked the weather there. I've also regretted in putting too much money to the subway card in the first day. But I guess I can just leave for next time (if there is a next time).

I get to enjoy the trip in Japan, visiting the places and viewing a lot of beautiful art pieces in the museum, which I wish we could stay at the Mori Art Museum and visit every exhibition there.

Overall, this is a short and memorable study trip for me and I think it is actually above my expectation before going to the trip as I get to choose to go to the places that I want after everyday's compulsory itinerary. It makes me want to come again and explore Tokyo in the future because one week is really not enough to explore the city.
