We are given the choice to choose to create a sticker or a competition of designing angpao packet for jaya grocer. I choose the task to design angpao.This task is a group project where we work in pair to design an angpao packet
for the jaya grocer competition.

After receiving the feedbacks of these 3 sketches, we are to think of another sketch to better represent the theme of Togetherness and finalised our idea.
Final idea:
Front cover - 2 outline, 3 fill rabbit : representing 2 0 2 3
Back cover - 23 rabbits of different poses: representing 2023

After we did the first 2 rabbit together, we decided to divide the rest to each work on 5 rabbits.
and then we arrange it together and also done the front cover together.

The sketch of angpao must show the theme of Togetherness.
Specific Feedback

The illustration is nice but does not show the theme of Togetherness.
The theme should not be obvious but give a hint of it and makes the audience think about what it means so that they would remember it better.
Could use the illustration of rabbit to represent the idea of 2023.
REFLECTIONS
EXPERIENCE

This is the first time that I use more of graphical elements in the typography module task and also working together in a pair to create a design. Creating the rabbits through Adobe Illustrator is more time consuming that I thought. When we first started, we spend around one hour to create a rabbit. After that, we decided to divide our work load and help each other so the progress also became more smoother.

OBSERVATIONS

I noticed that working in a pair could help sparkle lots of different idea and we try to incorporate our different ideas when discussing together to finish our design. When working in a pair, we get to learn from each other and help each other when we are facing problem. This helps us to collaborate better and work better.

FINDINGS

Throughout working on the Angpao design, I get to research about the elements of Chinese New Year and try to place them in creating the rabbits. I have also learned that when working in a task it is important that I always relate my work to the theme or goal that I am suppose to follow. A good design is not that obvious but is what that makes the viewer thinks and can be remembered better.
