FEEDBACK

WEEK 6
General feedback
-
We need to recognise when we are getting influenced from someone else's work, try to do more sketches and layout drafts and only pick one word from the title to express. The content and title need to be interactive and interrelate to each other.

Specific feedback
-
Line length of paragraph must be the same, diagonal title does not express the content, execution of expression need better work.

WEEK 7
Specific feedback
-
Proceed with layout draft #2 and have a same baseline for each column of paragraph to make it more firmer

REFLECTION

EXPERIENCE
-
I find it a bit hard to create several layout drafts for the project and express the content from the title using type expression.

OBSERVATIONS
-
Find inspirations and learn from layout of others will help in creating a better layout. We should come out with more sketches and layout drafts before finalising the final idea.

FINDINGS
-
To make a good layout, you need to be familiar with the rules in typography.

Typography Principles
by Jason Tselentis

“If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
If all a designer knows is a handful of principles, then all a designer can create is a handful of solutions.  Knowing as many rules as possible helps designers expand their toolbox and decide what to use, and when to use.

Typography selection
choose text with high readability such as Caslon, Bembo, Garamond. They work well with large area of text. (pg212)
